Mining is one of the many Skills in Curse of Aros. The mining skill is a resource gathering skill which doesn't require any kind of combat or fighting. You will earn mining-experience by mining different Ore, which are scattered around the gameworld. Make sure you use a Pickaxes when mining to avoid getting bruises or fractures!
Step 1 - Buying your first pickaxe
Before you're going to town on those rocks, you'll have to get your hands on a pickaxe. Head over to the Merchant and buy the "Bronze pickaxe". You need to start with this particular pickaxe , as the other ones requires a certain mining-level to equip. The pickaxe is rather cheap, but if you can't afford it, go kill some Bats until you have the required 250 gold.
Step 2 - Wielding the pickaxe
Now that you have your pickaxe, you'll need to wield it. To do so, tap on your level in the upper left corner. Click on the pickaxe you just bought and press "Wield". Now all you need i to find some veins!
Step 3 - Finding the right ores
Obviously you can't just run out and extract the most valuable ores before a little bit of field work. The easier and cheaper minerals, such as Tin Ore and Copper Ore can be found scattered around the starting area in Brightleaf. In the picture to the left, you can see the location of some of these.
Step 4 - Start mining
When you've found the rock you like, or really really hate , it's time to start smashing it. To do so you need to press the interact-button displaying an image of an ore. This is illustrated in the picture to the left. Once again, this activity is not bound to the attack-button.
Step 5 - What's next?
Once you've pressed the interact-button, your character will start taking his anger out on the rock. This is an automatic activity, meaning that you only need to press the button once. Once you've filled your inventory with precious minerals, you can either sell them or save them for later use (smithing, crafting). Now, all you've got to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the fact that you are not the one having to stand there smashing the rock indefinitely
