This fish can be acquired by casting a fishing rod into bodies of water that indicate a Beetle can be used on it. You need Beetles to fish at this fishing spot. Upon being caught, it gives you 750 exp in the Fishing skill.

Trout can be cooked resulting in a food that boosts your pets damage.

You can find Trout by Fishing at the Docks south of Brightleaf Forest.
