Fishing

Fishing is one of the many Skills in Curse of Aros. The Fishing skill is a resource gathering skill which doesn't require any kind of combat or fighting. You will earn Fishing-experience by casting your fishing rod at different bodies of water. Make sure you use a Fishing Rod when fishing to avoid getting your hand eaten by fish!

While fishing, Fishing Chest Fishing Chest periodically drops with a 5-minute cooldown. The chest gives Fishing Shard, which can be made into Fishing Key Fishing Key. These keys are used to get skilling armor.

Step 1 - Buying your first Fishing Rod

Before getting started, you'll first need a fishing rod. Head over to the Merchant and buy the "Bronze Rod". You will need to start with this particular fishing rod, as the other ones require a certain fishing proficiency. This starting fishing rod is cheap, but you can't afford it, find yourself some Chickens or Bats to slaughter until you have the required 75 gold.

Step 2 - Wielding your Fishing Rod

Now that you have you're own fishing rod, it's time to wield it. Press the backpack icon located on your action bar. Click or Tap on your fishing rod and press "Wield". Now the only step is to start fishing!

Step 3 - Finding the right areas

Now obviously you're not going to go out and catch the biggest fish without a little experience. Try finding some Earthworms that spawn around Brightleaf. In the picture to the left, you can see the perfect place to use your bait.

Step 4 - Start Fishing

When you've collected some bait and found the perfect fishing spot, it's time to start fishing. To do so you need to press the interact-button displaying an image of your fishing rod. This is illustrated in the picture to the left. Once again, this activity is not bound to the attack-button.

Step 5 - What's next?

Once you've pressed the interact-button, all that's left is to sit back and let your character do the rest. This is an automatic activity, meaning that you only need to press the button once. Once you've filled your inventory, you can either sell or save them for later use such as (Cooking). Occasionally while skilling you may discover a Fishing Chest, these give you fishing shards which are used to create Fishing Keys.
