Woodcutting

Woodcutting is one of the many Skills in Curse of Aros. The Woodcutting skill is a resource gathering skill which doesn't require any kind of combat or fighting. You will earn woodcutting-experience by cutting different Trees, which are scattered around the gameworld. Make sure you use an Axe when chopping to avoid getting bruises or fractures!

WCstep1.png Step 1 - Buying your first axe

Before you're going to town on those logs, you'll have to get your hands on a axe. Head over to the Merchant and buy the "Bronze Axe". You need to start with this particular axe , as the other ones requires a certain mining-level to equip. This axe is rather cheap, but if you can't afford it, go kill some Bats until you have the required 250 gold.

WCstep2.png Step 2 - Wielding your axe
Now that you have your axe, you'll need to wield it. To do so, tap on your level in the upper left corner. Click on the pickaxe you just bought and press "Wield". Now all you need is to find some logs!

WCstep3.png Step 3 - Finding the right trees
Obviously you can't just run out and extract the most valuable logs before a little bit of field work. The easier and cheaper logs, such as Pine Logs can be found scattered around the starting area in Brightleaf. In the picture to the left, you can see the location of some of these.

WCstep4.png Step 4 - Start woodcutting
When you've found the tree you like, or really really hate , it's time to start smashing it. To do so you need to press the interact-button displaying an image of the tree. This is illustrated in the picture to the left. Once again, this activity is not bound to the attack-button.

WCstep5.png Step 5 - What's next?
Once you've pressed the interact-button, your character will start taking his anger out on the tree. This is an automatic activity, meaning that you only need to press the button once. Once you've filled your inventory with precious logs, you can either sell them or save them for later use (smithing, crafting). Now, all you've got to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the fact that you are not the one having to stand there smashing the tree indefinitely
